O'Brien's or bust!

We made it to Leila and Shawn's house! A bit of traffic, some rain, and we made it in last night around 7. Their house is absolutely incredible! I promise to take real pics of the house tomorrow, but if you are ever in the area, ring their doorbell, they have space for you:)! It's wonderful to have the boys in their own rooms, Dad in the man cave, E and I sharing rooms with the girls. Fantastic! And so relaxing. We actually did NOTHING this afternoon-unless you include E cooking her brains out, making our first home cooked meal on the trip. It was fantastic-potatoes, carrots, small chickens, salad (WHAT?), rolls, asparagus-DELISH!

Leila and Shawn have two dogs that got their first test of children and have passed with flying colors. Thank goodness because BGOB "ba-gob" (baby girl o'brien) is due January 20! It's awesome seeing Leila so stinkin' prego! CJ is still convinced that she is a lap dog.
Dad, Leila, Eden, Reeder, Hayes and I went to the Charlotte Discovery Place and lunch today. Leo spiked a fever (or so E claims) so they got to hang out ALONE for over three hours! Hmmm....
The science center had all sorts of cool experiments for the kids-we had a blast.

And Reeder won the brave prize! She was the only one to get in this lift thingy. Although she didn't smile once, she seemed to enjoy it!
The bed of nails! This was the definite highlight of the day. Take a closer look at Eden's face-I didn't realize she was so scared!
Hypnotized...
Me on the bed of nails, you can see the very interested girls on the side of the pic.
PREGO!
Eden wanted to take a pic of Papa.
Whew, we were exhausted and needed to take a little juice break before heading to the toddler area.
Such a cool experiment. A little polymer in the girls' hands, add a little water, and voila-SNOW! They were blown away. The girls sat there until the lady finally cut them off!

Dr. Irvin...
Towards the end of naptime I thought I heard the pitter patter of small feet. I quietly went upstairs, peaked in the room, tiptoed up to the bed, to find Reeder missing and a very large penguin in her place. Too funny (she was found in Shawn's office)!
Aunt Leila busted out the ghiradelli brownie mix and went to town making brownies with Reeder and Eden.

This evening the girls found a roll of electric tape, pretended it was a bunch of band aids, and made Papa Dr. Irvin. He fixed all of the broken feet, cuts, and boo boos!

Who says you need baby toys? Hayes and Leo have been fighting over the rolling laundry bin. And, of course, the penguin made the cut.
SOOOO much whining. Sometimes I feel like this is all I see...
And then Aunt Leila steps in and saves me with reading the same books multiple times.
Look who appeared! He even helped clean some dishes.
Leo, still not feeling 100%, snuggled with Papa while E slaved away in the kitchen.
And about 30 minutes ago, I was being the perfect daughter... E says she isn't interested in the competition!
See you all tomorrow! Maybe E will participate and not make up another sickness so you can hear from her!

  1. I love the bed of nails- And Reeder and Eden do look terrified- and I just don't think I'd be brave enough to try- I really, really, really don't like pain.
But I loved all the pics- and Leila looks fantastic.
The kids are all so very cute- and imaginative! I love it!
